Colours...
These are the colours I’ve chosen. A grey that will work with the black clinker bricks and white only on the windows and the down strokes of the roof detail. Remember the roof is going to be natural tin so it will work in well with the muted grey. These colours will be used on the gable at the back on the new extension. I can’t believe this is my house under all that horrible cream...

The brickies are DONE!
Yes, this is what my garden has turned into. Very sad, but I’m assured that it will all be cleaned up by a group of five lesbians who my builder uses for all the messy work.
This post is late because I’ve had real trouble getting the whole space in a photograph. I am in no way a photographer, and it’s been tricky! Also because the entire space looks strange with the floor...

Busy!
It’s been a bit nuts here. Every day the brickies do so much I think, oh, I’ll wait until tomorrow to take some shots. But then a whole week goes by with no update.
Then Paul and I had a gorgeous weekend away at the Barossa Valley Spa Pavilions, which was completely lovely and a great relief from the dust and mess. But it also put a stop to updates.

Pool fence issue
I have been worrying about the amount of space I have around the pool, for the kids to play, for cleaning and access if someone is in trouble in the water.

Wet progress
Where’s a drought when you need one?? The brickies have had trouble as they can’t work in the rain. Also I was a total air head about the height of the window in the bathroom. There was some controversy over the height of the bath and the brickie almost killed me when I kept changing my mind. Poor man. Extra tea for him!
I am constantly surprised by how tall the ceiling height is...

Bath colour, thoughts?
OK. We have the perfect bath. Now we need the colour. I am not going to chrome the feet as it’s hard to do on old feet and it’s also something they do on new feet and I want this to still look like an old bath in the end. Obviously white on the inside. It’s black currently. Paul likes the black but I am worried it will look a bit matchy matchy with the black and white hex floor...

Our new (old) bath!
Paul has wanted an old cast iron bath for the longest time. I went back and forth on the whole, cleaning around it thing, can’t fit two people in it thing, blah blah. But in the end, it’s what he wanted and it’s just an ensuite, we can do something special.
So we went to the bath restorers. We wanted to get an old bath, also because the new ones start at $4000!! There were...
