Just one day
I’m constantly amazed at how long and fast these brickies work. The process of double brick is very long and boring, not like wood frame. But these guys are going very fast. There was a lot of tension this morning at 7.30 when the guys moved the first huge window into place. It’s very heavy with two panes of glass, and it was blowing a gale this morning. We were all freaking out that...

I didn't make a mistake!
The windows are here! I have been dreading/looking forward to this day for over a year. I have spent so much time worrying and redesigning and stuffing around with the windows I have driven everyone, including myself, mad with it. I was dreading when they finally arrived I would have one of those Grand Design moments where the windows arrive and they discover they’ve stuffed up the...

This would result in concrete being sprayed all over my very generous neighbours driveway,...

My wok kitchen
Thanks to my lovely Paul I have the most fabulous wok kitchen! A massive camping wok ring, I could cook for an army on that thing. Also a light for night cooking, and a wind break. It’s a great set up and perfect for cooking fatty hot things that I don’t want stinking up the house as we have no extractor. I may not top this set up with our new kitchen!

Sorry...
It has been total madness here. I have been a single mother for three weeks while Paul was away overseas. I had two major clients have the peak of their work. AND of course the build! It’s been none stop here. Footings, brickies, cement, windows, holes in walls. Very exciting! After all that, I’ve been so tired at the end of the day I just collapse and scroll through Pinterest for a...
